Did you ever change your hike route because a huge grizzly bear is sleeping in the middle of the road? Denali National Park in Alaska delivers such a unique experience.
Denali ascends majestically to 20,310 feet and is one of the most awe-inspiring sights in Alaska. Six million acres of wildland surround by nature's beauty. This is home to wildlife, from grizzlies and moose to caribou and Dall sheep. There is only one road into Denali National Park.
Are you wondering what is the best time of year to visit Denali National Park?
The answer is any of the long weekends during summer.
Summer
Denali is open year-round, though facilities and services are more limited in winter than in summer. For a visitor to Denali, the summer is when most services and activities are possible, and is when access to the park is easiest. From late May till early September services are open & buses running at full capacity.
Winter
Once significant snowfalls, the road may frequently close at Mile 3, Park Headquarters. The first snow may fall in July or August, but true winter doesn't set in until September or October. At that point, winter activities become possible, like skiing or dog mushing
Activities
Hiking, biking, camping, rafting, fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, aurora viewing, wildlife viewing, photography, you name it and Denali National Park has got it.
